Ali is a founding partner of the law firm of Dagher Goodman Dagher PLLC. He specializes in the areas of commercial transactions and real estate law. In addition, Ali is principal owner of Anjen Global Trading Company focusing on trade with Middle East and North Africa Region (MENA) and West African countries.
Born in Sierra Leone, Ali immigrated to the U.S. in 1977 after residing in Lebanon for several years. Subsequent to receiving his Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from the University of Michigan-Dearborn (1989) and his Juris Doctorate degree from the University of Detroit School of Law (1992), Ali was admitted to the Michigan Bar in 1992. As a graduate fellow of the Michigan State University Political Leadership Training Program (1993), he is skilled multiple aspects of campaign management, public policy development and community organizing. Ali is fluent in Arabic and is familiar with intricacies of trade and commerce in the MENA and Western Africa. His experiences and relationships in these regions have proven valuable to his clients.
Ali was a critical force in the formation of the Arab American Chamber of Commerce. In 1989, he co-wrote the founding proposal for the Chamber and was instrumental in recruiting the initial Board of Directors and the first Executive Director when the Chamber opened its doors in 1991. Since the formation of the Chamber Ali has held multiple positions and is currently serving as First Vice-Chair of the organization.
Ali best describes himself as a community organizer and has played a pivotal role in founding various organizations including the Michigan Collegiate Coalition, the Delta Sigma Phi-Eta Kappa Chapter of the University of Michigan-Dearborn. As counsel, Ali assisted in the formation and organizing of several local and national non-profit organizations including youth athletic programs like the Dearborn Lions little league football teams and HYPE Athletics. Currently, Ali is serving as President of the Howe School Parent Teacher Organization. His commitment to his community organizations is fundamental to his belief that change always occurs on a local level.
