no-smokingWhere will your business be May 1st?

What will you do? What can you do?

The American Arab Chamber of Commerce is concerned with how the upcoming smoking ban will impact the small business community, especially in today's tough economic conditions. In light of this, the Chamber seeks to provide you with the best available information so that you can make the informed decisions necessary to ensure the success and profitability of your business. We have continuously been in contact with the state legislature and other relevant organizations and officials in order to make sure that they understand the impact that this law will have on small business owners.

Now that the law has been passed, the Department of Community Health and the Department of Agriculture are in the process of outlining the guidelines by which the law will be enforced. The Chamber is actively working with both Departments by providing input on behalf of our members and the business community, and making recommendations in the hope of impacting the guidelines being established.

Both Departments have informed the Chamber that the smoking ban guidelines will be completed by March, at which time the Chamber will be hosting a meeting with representatives from the Department of Community Health, Department of Agriculture, as well as state officials, county representatives, and local municipalities, in order to answer your questions regarding the smoking ban and how it will affect your business.

We will inform you in March of the date and time of the meeting so that you can be there to get the information you need.  .
