Dr. Ali Farhat, Dr. Michael Boulus and Ms. Suzanne Sukkar have been elected to the American Arab Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors. Dr. Frahat is Chief, Hospitalist Division at William Beaumont Hospital, Executive Director, Dr. Boulus is Executive Director of the Presidents Council of the State Universities of Michigan and Ms. Sukkar is an immigration attorney at Sukkar Law in the Ann Arbor Area.


American Arab Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors Adds New Members

The American Arab Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors elected Dr. Ali Farhat, Michael Boulus and Suzanne Sukkar to the AACC Board. Dr. Farhat is a Chief Division of Hospital Medicine at William Beaumont Hospital in Royal Oak, Dr. Boulus is Executive Director of the Presidents Council of the State Universities of Michigan and Suzanne Sukkar is an Immigration Attorney at Sukkar Law in Ann Arbor.
"We're delighted to have new members join us, as we continue our great tradition of excellence and achievement" said AACC Board Chairman Ahmad Chebbani.
The American Arab Chamber of Commerce is one of the largest Arab-American Business organizations in the United States, and its board represents cultural and business diversity and is distinguished by high ethical standards, leadership and commitment to serving Chamber members, the business community and the community at large.
The board also elected Ahmad Chebbani chairman, Amal Berry-Brown 1st Vice Chair, Nafa Khalaf 2nd Vice Chair Chair, Mohamed Sabbagh Treasurer and Ali Dagher Secretary.

Ms. Suzanne Sukkar is Principal of Sukkar Legal, an immigration and naturalization law firm with a focus on employment and family-based immigration. She has a Juris Doctor from Wayne State University Law School and a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Michigan - Ann Arbor. Her area of study was Political Science and Spanish and she had studied for one semester in Spain while an undergraduate student.
Sukkar Legal services include obtaining employment-based visas such as H, L, E, O, P, R, TN, TPS, B, F, NAFTA visas, labor certifications, family-based immigration and naturalization. She renders expert strategic and tactical counsel to broad clientele in a wide array of Corporate and Immigration Law concerns. She is responsible for handling all aspects of cases: from evaluation to drafting legal documents, and making court appearances.
Ms. Sukkar received the 2011 NAPW Executive Woman of the Year Award and is Director at Large, Women Lawyers Association of Michigan; Past President, Women Lawyers Association of Michigan - Washtenaw Region; Director at Large, American Arab Chamber of Commerce. Her affiliations include: American Immigration Lawyers Association; Women Lawyers Association of Michigan; State Bar of Michigan; Washtenaw County Bar Association; American Bar Association; American Arab Chamber of Commerce; National Association for Professional Women; University of Michigan Alumni Association.
Her charitable involvements include Jean L. King Women's Center of S. E. Michigan; Girl Scouts; and, Big Brothers & Sisters of America. Her hobbies include travel, spending time with her family and community involvement.



Farhat-
Dr. Farhat is Chief, Hospitalist Division and Chairman of the CPR Committee at William Beaumont Hospital. He also serves as the Medical Director of the Rapid Response and the Express Admissions Unit. He serves as the Director of Pearce Hospitalist Service and Internal Medicine Consultation Service.
Along with his professional appointment at Beaumont Hospital, Dr. Farhat holds various faculty appointments as well. they include Clinical Assistant Professor at Wayne State University, Internal Medicine Clinic in Teaching Attending at William Beaumont Hospital, Internal Medicine Staff Service Teaching Attending at William Beaumont Hospital, and Hospitalist, Department of Internal Medicine at William Beaumont Hospital.
Dr. Farhat's past appointment include: Chairman, Anticoagulation Sub-Committee, Medical Director, Rapid Diagnostic Unit, Chairman, Computerized Physician Order Entry Committee and Mentor, Wayne Sate University Medical Students.
Dr. Farhat has received numerous awards and recognitions including: National Key Honor Society and is a Summa Cum Laude Graduate.
Dr. Farhat received his Bachelor of Science and his M.D. degrees from Wayne State University. He completed his medical residency at William Beaumont Hospital.



boulus9-03bMichael Boulus has served as the executive director of the Presidents Council, State Universities of Michigan since January 2003. The Presidents Council is the coordinating body for the state's 15 public universities.

Prior to joining the Presidents Council, Mike served as deputy state treasurer for the Michigan Department of Treasury, overseeing the Bureau of Student Financial Assistance, the School Bond Loan Program, Local Government Services, Office of Revenue and Tax Analysis, and the state's educational assessment program.

Dr. Boulus is the former executive director of the Middle Cities Education Association and former deputy executive director of the Michigan Association of School Administrators. He currently serves as chair of the Education Alliance of Michigan, a coalition of sixteen leading educational organizations in Michigan. He is founder and first president of the Michigan Schools Energy Cooperative and serves on the board of directors for Next Energy, a business incubator for energy related start up companies. Boulus also serves on the Michigan Nonprofit Association Board and was recently elected to the American Arab Chamber of Commerce board of directors.

Dr. Boulus holds a doctoral degree from Michigan State University, a master's degree from Eastern Michigan University and a bachelor's degree from the University of Notre Dame. He is the recipient of several awards, including the National Leadership Award for Educational Leadership, in recognition of his contributions to the improvement of American education; the University of Notre Dame Exemplar Award, in recognition of outstanding service to country, education and church; the Michigan State University College of Education Distinguished Alumni Award and the Eastern Michigan University Outstanding Alumni Awar
