Hamadeh Educational Services (HES), named one of America's 15 most promising charter school groups by the Charter School Growth Fund, was founded in 1998 by Mrs. Nawal Hamadeh, an educator with over 25 years experience and a prominent member of her community. The HES vision is informed by Mrs. Hamadeh's experience locally, nationally and internationally, and is based on the unique characteristics of the local diverse multicultural communities in southeast Michigan such as the Dearborn, Dearborn Heights, Detroit, Westland, Sterling Heights and other surrounding areas in the Tri-County Region.

Today HES serves over 2600 students with over 350 staff members and manages the following four public school academies:
1. Star International Academy in the city of Dearborn Heights serving grades Prek-12.
2. Universal Academy in the city of Detroit serving grades K-12.
3. Universal Learning Academy currently located in the City of Westland and currently serves grades Prek-7, eventually Prek-12
4. Noor International Academy in the City of Sterling Heights currently serves K-4, eventually Prek-12.


VISION AND MISSION
The vision of Hamadeh Educational Services is to provide a choice for parents and students looking for a safe place to learn which is respectful of all cultural traditions, and that also provides students with the proper skills and experiences to assimilate and be successful in the United States as well as to be competitive internationally.
Hamadeh Educational Services' mission focuses foremost on providing a high quality education. Implicit in this mission is a goal to promote lifelong learning. HES also recognizes that education is fundamentally a local business. It's about good teachers in well appointed classrooms set in a safe environment full of motivated students.
EDUCATIONAL PROGRAMS
HES Academies offer a full day instruction program for grades Pre-K to 12 that includes the study of Arabic and global languages. All classes are taught by certified and highly qualified teachers, who are committed to HES's mission of promoting academic excellence and cultural diversity.
High school students benefit from Dual Enrollment (DE), Advanced Placement (AP) classes, a dynamic Athletic program and a strong scholarship program with at least 50% of seniors receiving scholarships towards college.
Star International Academy and Universal Academy are authorized International Baccalaureate (IB) schools, offering the IB Middle Years program. The IB program is a comprehensive international curriculum that encourages students across the world to become active, compassionate and lifelong learners who understand that other people, with their differences, can also be right.

Several Alumni's who have graduated from higher educational institutions are now serving HES academies as teachers, administrators, paraprofessionals and even board members.
